Rams Boys’ Basketball Suffers First Loss of the Season
On Jan. 4, the Old Saybrook boys’ basketball team traveled to Old Lyme, walking away with a dominant 56-32 win to extend their winning ways. A variety of players helped contribute to the victory for the Rams.
Aaron Tolve scored 22 points and collected five rebounds, Brayden Cody had ten points and three assists, and Josh Lech had nine points and two rebounds. Auggie Albert also contributed, with six points and four rebounds, while Drew Kulmann added five points. On the Old Lyme side, Calvin and Caden Monte had 14 points apiece, while Alex Olsen scored four points.
The Rams then returned home on Jan. 6, facing Portland. Old Saybrook took its first loss of the season, by a score of 56-51. Aaron Tolve led the Rams offensively with 14 points and five rebounds, followed by London Sweeney's 13 points and five rebounds. Auggie Albert also added eight points and eight rebounds, and Josh Lech had nine points and five rebounds.
For Portland, Harrison Collins had 18 points, Joe Rusczyk had 12 points, and Austin Vess had 11 points.
