Morgan Boys’ Basketball Breaks Even at Holiday Tournament

On Dec. 27, the Morgan boys’ basketball team faced Trumbull in the first round of the Stratford High School Holiday Tournament. The Huskies lost a close game, by a final score of 58-52. Matt Reed led the scoring for Morgan with 15 points, followed by Gavin Krott with 12 points.

Jack Nye recorded 11 points, while Eddie Dwake recorded ten. Ryan Donadio and Robby Estabrook added two points each.

The next day, on Dec. 28, Morgan grabbed a dominant 70-39 victory over Joel Barlow in the consolation game of the tournament. Many players were contributing factors in the win. Robby Estabrook led the way this time, scoring 18 points for the Huskies. Matt Reed added another 15 points, and was selected to the All-Tournament Team. Eddie Dwake had another double-digit scoring performance, putting 13 points on the board. Jack Nye, Ryan Donadio, and Carter Hyash all added offense as well, scoring nine, six, and four points, respectively. Mason Krott also added three points, and teammate Kyle Kobelt scored two.
