12/22/2022 02:36 PMThe Guilford boys’ wrestling team hosted Morgan on Dec. 21, in what proved to be a competitive matchup. The Grizzlies came out on top, however, by a final score of 55-21.
Morgan’s Ariana Farr defeated Guilford’s Killian Thompson in the 113-pound bout at the 4:13 mark. Morgan’s Dominic Larabee won a 8-4 decision in the 120-pound bout over Dante Bilskis of Guilford. Alex Uzzo claimed a victory for the Grizzlies at the 0:36 mark of the 126-pound bout, defeating Creighton Johnson of the Huskies.
Bodhi Climie of Guilford took a 17-8 decision over Huskies’ Carson Dowd in the 132-pound bout. Nicholas Spaziano gathered another win for Morgan, with a defeat over Elijah McDermott in the 138-pound bout at the 2:50 mark. The 152-pound bout was a tight one, but resulted in Owen Pelletier-Stephens (Guilford) winning a 3-2 decision over Steven Kinzer (Morgan).
Anderson Darr represented the Huskies in the 160-pound bout, taking down Guilford’s Brianna Seixas at the 1:14 mark. Grizzlies’ Alejandro Colberg-Martinez won the 170-pound bout at the 1:51 mark with a win over Morgan’s Aidan Staunton.
The 182-pound bout found James Mahoney collecting the victory for Guilford at the 0:45 mark, defeating Jaidyn Hills of Morgan. Liam Alberti brought the heat in the 195-pound bout, giving the Grizzlies a win at the 0:37 mark over Morgan’s Mason Jakober.
On Friday, Dec. 30, the Grizzlies will travel to Windham High School for the Whippet Duels, and the Huskies will host Bristol Eastern, Bunnell, Farmington, Haddam-Killingworth, Ellis Tech, Portland, and Shelton.
