12/22/2022 11:18 AMThe Amity/North Haven/Cheshire girls’ ice hockey team took a 7-5 loss to Ridgefield/Danbury/Immaculate on the road on Dec.19. The scoring was very back and forth, but the Tigers ultimately prevailed.
Ridgefield led the scoring in the first period, scoring three straight goals by Brianna Boulanger, assisted by Maddie Moreau and Delaney Sheppard, 2:59 into the game. Then, at 7:39, Keira Drake scored with assists by Mia DAandria and Bella Stewart. Sophia Dadd added another quick goal unassisted at 7:56. Izzy Guillotte got Am/NH/CH on the board with a goal assisted by Elaina Scasino 9:00 into the game. Sophia Dadd then knocked in her second score of the game (11:45), this time assisted by Addison Avery-Payne. The Tigers went into the locker room with a 4-1 lead.
It didn’t take long for Ridgefield to pick up right where they left off, as Brianna Boulanger scored :26 into the second period, with Sophia Dadd and Sophia Bianco being credited with the assists. Keira Drake scored an unassisted goal :56 in. North Haven’s Emelia Brandi, along with Lucy Dickenson, assisted on a goal scored by Maybelle Caron (4:43), and Emelia Brandi then followed up with an unassisted goal at 4:57. The score was 6-3 after two periods of play.
Emelia Brandi continued her hot streak heading into the third period, as she scored just 3:06 in, with assists going to Samantha Drane and Maybelle Caron. Izzy Guillotte helped close the scoring gap even more, as she found the net with assists from Carly Gilbert and Samantha Drane (6:35). Keira Drake scored an unassisted goal for Ridgefield at the 12:20 mark.
The final score was 7-5, in the Tigers’ favor. Lindsey DiNicola was credited with 24 saves in goal for the Blades, and Ashley Collins had 18 for the Tigers.
