Brady Raffone put the icing on the cake for the Grizzlies with a third period goal at the 4:48 mark.
Guilford had 27 shots on goal, while East Catholic had 22. Sean McSweet recorded 22 saves in net in the shutout.
“It was great for the team to win its first home game back in the Veterans Memorial DiLungo Rink after playing on the road for two years,” said Coach Russo. “We had some nice plays moving the puck at times especially on our first goal. Congrats to Logan on three goals and an assist, and to his linemates for some nice passing.”
“Sean was great in goal, turning away 22 shots. We all need to keep working on our offensive and defensive play....we have a lot of season and challenging opponents ahead of us. Next week we head to Maine to play two games. We welcome our hockey alumni back next week for their annual alumni game on Dec. 29 at 5:35pm at the Veterans Memorial DiLungo Rink in East Haven.”
