Chemacki Swims Two Events for the Tigers at the Open

Sophomore Sami Chemacki represented the Hand girls’ swimming and diving team by participating in the State Open Championship last week. Chemacki competed in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley when the State Open took place at Yale University on Nov. 20.

Chemacki finished in 12th place for the 100 breaststroke at the State Open by posting a time of 1:08.74 in the event. Chemacki also competed in the 200 IM and swam a time of 2:14.83 to finish in 17th place for the Tigers. Chemacki’s performances resulted in 24 points that put Hand in 38th place for the State Open standings.

Chemacki had previously finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.42 at the Class S State Championship. Chemacki also took fourth place in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:15.32, helping Hand finish in third place as a team at the meet.
