Three Warriors’ Teams Take Defeats in States

Girls’ Volleyball

The Valley Regional girls’ volleyball team saw its season come to a close with a first-round loss to Weston in the Class M State Tournament last week. The Warriors finished the year with an overall record of 13-10.

No. 17 seed Valley hit the road to play No. 16 seed Weston in the first round of the Class M bracket on Nov. 7. Weston claimed a 3-2 victory against the Warriors in the matchup. The Trojans prevailed by set scores of 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-12, 15-13 to take the contest in 5 sets and move on to the second round of the tournament.

Field Hockey

The Valley Regional field hockey team was on the road to face Granby for a Class S State Tournament first-round game on Nov. 8. The 11th-seeded Warriors took a 2-0 loss to No. 6 seed Granby and were eliminated from the tournament with the defeat. Valley Regional posted an overall record of 8-7-3 for the 2022 campaign.

Girls’ Soccer

The Valley Regional girls’ soccer team played a road game versus Watertown in the first round of the Class M State Tournament last week. On Nov. 8, the 25th-seeded Warriors faced No. 8 seed Watertown in a first-round states game and were edged out by the final score of 1-0. Valley completed its season with an overall record of 6-5-5.
