Tseperkas Named First Head Coach of North Haven Wrestling
The North Haven High School (NHHS) Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Peter Tseperkas as the new and first head coach for the NHHS wrestling program.
Tseperkas previously coached wrestling at Stratford High School from 2004 to 2010. Prior to that, he coached the wrestling team at Salem High School in Massachusetts from 1999 to 2004. For the past five years, Tseperkas has taught Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Soulcraft Martial Arts in Hamden. Additionally, Tseperkas has served as a volunteer coach for Amity Youth Wrestling in Woodbridge and with the North Haven Youth Football program for the past four seasons.
“We are very excited to have Coach Tseperkas as North Haven’s first-ever wrestling coach at North Haven High School,” said North Haven Athletic Director Steve Blumenthal. “Pete has the energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge to get North Haven wrestling off the ground and have the program be competitive in the very near future.”
As an athlete, Tseperkas wrestled for the legendary Bob Skelton at Western New England University. In high school, Tseperkas was a four-year letter winner for top-ranked Rocky Point High School on Long Island and was also a two-time conference place winner and runner-up. He was a multiple-time state place winner in New York for Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling at the youth and cadet levels.
Tseperkas is a middle school science teacher in Stratford and also a volunteer EMT. He currently lives in North Haven with his wife and three children.
