Madison Hall of Fame to Induct 11 New Members in September
The Madison Athletic Hall of Fame (MAHOF) will induct its Class of 2022 at the Madison Beach Hotel on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Buffet dinner tickets are $60 and available to purchase at www.madisonhalloffame.org. The 2022 inductees for the MAHOF include Heather Brown, a 1984 graduate of Daniel Hand High School (DHHS) who played golf, softball, and field hockey and later went on to become coach of the girls’ golf team. This year’s induction class also features Kristen Conlon Mierzejewski, who competed in softball and gymnastics before graduating in 1996; Kevin Dolan, a Class of 1976 graduate who played soccer; Bill Ferguson, a member of the Class of 1971 who participated in basketball and track and field; and Pat Fitzgerald, who coached the girls’ swimming team in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s.
Jacob “TJ” Naylor, a 1999 graduate who competed in football, track and field, wrestling, and, basketball, will be inducted into the MAHOF this year. Also part of this year’s class of inductees are Rebekah Pite, who played soccer and lacrosse at DHHS before graduating in 1991; Lawrence “LJ” Spinnato, a 2002 graduate who competed in football, wrestling, and track and field, and then went on to become a coach for football and wrestling; and Art Symonds, who graduated from DHHS in 1972 and will be inducted as an exemplary contributor.
Mary Jane Telford, a 1971 graduate of DHHS who played basketball, field hockey, and softball, and later went on to coach basketball, is among the Class of 2022 inductees for the MAHOF. Wayne Wielgus, who played basketball, soccer, and golf at the school before graduating in 1972, is also a member of this year’s induction class.
