Guilford 10-U All-Stars Baseball Team Takes Defeats in Section 3 Tournament
On the heels of claiming the District 3 title, the Guilford 10-U All-Stars baseball team competed against its fellow district winners in the Section 3 Tournament in East Lyme last week. Guilford took losses against East Lyme and Glastonbury in its two games and was eliminated from the tournament with the defeats.
In its first game of the Section 3 Tournament, Guilford dropped a 9-4 decision to East Lyme on July 19. Two days later, Guilford played an elimination game against Glastonbury and took a 9-4 loss in the contest.
The Guilford 10-U All-Stars had won the District 3 title by going 4-0 in its pool-play games sweeping a best-of-3 championship series with Middletown. Guilford earned a 10-6 win over Middletown in the first game of the series and then notched a 9-0 victory in the second game to clinch the district crown on July 10.
The players on the Guilford 10-U All-Stars baseball team are Adam Aulenti, Sebastian Carafeno, Atlas Curley, Brayden Dill, Hunter Jackson, Evan Lowe, Evan Manfredonia, Louis Mezzanotte, Marco Nunzianto, Ryan Reed, Nick Tafro, Nico Tropiano, and James Yoo. Guilford’s head coach is Justin Lowe, and the team’s assistant coaches are Jeremey Jackson and Rich Tropiano.
