Ed and Jeff Crisafi Receive Inaugural Award for East Haven
East Haven softball Head Coach Ed Crisafi and Assistant Coach Jeff Crisafi recently received a distinction that was presented for the first time at the high school. Ed Crisafi and Jeff Crisafi were presented with East Haven High School’s inaugural Head and Assistant Coaches of the Year Award on the heels of a record-setting season for the Yellowjackets’ softball team.
The East Haven softball squad finished with an overall record of 23-3 for the
2022 spring campaign, breaking the program record for the most wins and the best winning percentage (.885) in a season. Led by the father-and-son Crisafi tandem, the Yellowjackets claimed the SCC Oronoque Division title during the regular season and then won the SCC Tournament for the first time in team history, capturing the crown with a 6-1 victory versus Jonathan Law in the conference final. East Haven went on to advance to the quarterfinal round of the Class L State Tournament.
Ed Crisafi has a career record of 345-248 as East Haven’s head coach. The Yellowjackets have made it to the state final three times during Crisafi’s tenure as the team’s skipper, winning the Class L state championship in 2015. Jeff Crisafi has been a member of
East Haven’s coaching staff for the past
12 years.
