Arrest Made in Guilford Purse Snatching
The Guilford Police Department responded to the complaint of a purse snatching in Shoreline Plaza, 830 Boston Post Road, on Sept. 4 at 11:02 a.m. During the event, a juvenile male subject forcibly stole a victim’s purse while the victim was returning to her shopping cart in the parking lot. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident and was treated on scene.
By working in close partnership with area law enforcement agencies, investigators quickly developed a suspect for the incident and an arrest warrant was secured. On September 14, 2022, the 16-year-old juvenile male suspect was taken into custody for the following charges:
53a-135: Robbery 2nd Degree
53a-124: Larceny 3rd Degree
53a-48(53a-135): Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 2nd Degree
53a-48(53a-124): Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3rd Degree
53a-49(53a-128c): Criminal Attempt at Payment Card Theft
The juvenile male was remanded to custody at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
