Aug. 25 to 31
The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Thursday, Aug. 25
• A 27-year-old Middletown man was arrested at 5:43 p.m. and charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary in the first degree, criminal attempt to commit criminal trespass in the second degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, and breach of peace in the second degree.
• A 37-year-old West Haven man was arrested at 8:44 p.m. and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree, possession of a controlled substance (third time arrested for this offense/repeat offender), and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest. Later, at 11 p.m., he was also charged with violation of probation.
• A 35-year-old West Haven woman was arrested at 9:15 p.m. and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree, possession of a controlled substance, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Friday, Aug. 26
• A 31-year-old West Haven man was arrested at 12:33 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, and two counts of violation of a protective order. He was processed on a $10,000 surety bond.
• A 30-year-old New Britain man was arrested at 2 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and forgery in the first degree. He was processed on a $10,000 surety bond. While in custody he was charged at 8 a.m. with extradition arrest by warrant.
• A 31-year-old New Haven man was arrested at 12:16 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. He was processed on a combined $27,000 bond amount.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 1350 Durham Road at 7:24 p.m. A net between the skate park and basketball courts was cut.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 259 Old Whitfield Street at 7:44 a.m. A window was damaged by an egg.
Saturday, Aug. 27
• A 31-year-old Branford man was arrested at 2:40 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This was the second time this man was arrested for this offense after a prior conviction.
Sunday, Aug. 28
• A 47-year-old Westport woman was arrested at 4:36 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
Monday, Aug. 29
• A 25-year-old North Haven woman was arrested at 7 a.m. and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree and interfering with an officer/resisting arrest.
• An attempted burglary of a vehicle was observed on a Ring camera at 4 Lucy Lane at 4:54 a.m.
• Neighbor trouble (an ongoing issue) was investigated on Scenic View Drive at 9:52 a.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated behind Great Hill Cottages, 376 State Street, at 10:21 a.m. A window of a barn was broken between the prior Saturday evening and its discovery Sunday afternoon. The person responsible may have been aiming at a massive white-faced hornet hive on the window and missed, breaking the window.
• Fraud by identity theft was reported by a resident of 44 Denison Drive at 11:12 a.m.
• Unemployment fraud by identity theft was reported by a resident of 3062 Long Hill Road at 4:02 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 30
• A 38-year-old North Branford man was arrested at 11:55 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop in front of 2945 Boston Post Road.
• Repossession of a vehicle was conducted at 131 Elm Street at 2:23 a.m. by Skyline Recovery Service.0
Wednesday, Aug. 31
No arrests were made.
