Police Incident Report for July 20 to 26
The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Branford
Wednesday, July 20
• A 34 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree and robbery in the second degree.
Thursday, July 21
• A 61 year-old man of a North Harbor Street apartment was arrested at 3:35 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, and failure to appear in the second degree on the strength of a warrant.
• A 39 year-old man of Forest Street was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:08 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat.
• A 61 year-old woman of Cosey Beach Avenue was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:08 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Friday, July 22
• A 45 year-old man of Flax Mill Hollow was arrested at 9:44 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. In the same incident, a 47 year-old woman of the same address was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and disorderly conduct.
• A 31 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 11:07 p.m. and charged with interfering with a labor relations board, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, falsifying a marker plate, license, or registration, and failure to carry a driver’s license.
• A 45 year-old Naugatuck man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:09 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.
Saturday, July 23
• A 25 year-old man of Dominican Road was arrested at 7:45 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic with intent to sell or distribute, failure to keep a narcotic in its original container, and reckless driving.
• A 23 year-old man of a Main Street apartment was arrested at 11:30 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of marker plate, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license.
Sunday, July 24
• A 24 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 12:15 p.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree, disorderly conduct, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Monday, July 25
• A 52 year-old man of Hickory Hill Lane was arrested at 2:10 p.m. and charged with filing a false incident in the second degree.
• A 26 year-old man of Alps Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:46 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to renew registration, and failure to carry a driver’s license.

• A 39 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:38 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, falsifying a marker plate, driver’s license, or registration. He was operating a red 1996 Mazda B3000 Club Cab pick-up truck.

• A 50 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 2:49 p.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree,
• A 19 year-old man of a Foxon Road apartment was arrested at 4:38 p.m. and charged with threatening in the second degree.

No arrests were made.
• A 63 year-old Guilford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:54 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident in which there was property damage or bodily injury). He was operating a green 2007 Ford Taurus sedan.
From July 20 to 26 North Branford police issued nine citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, two citations for traveling unreasonably fast, and two citations for failure to obey State Traffic Commission road signs or markings. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart, failure to obey a control signal, and speeding.
