Police Incident Report for May 22 to 28
The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Clinton
Wednesday, May 22
No arrests were made.
Thursday, May 23
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated on Brickyard Road at 11:38 a.m. Damage was done to a bridge that runs over a river in the area.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on College Street at 5:29 p.m.
• A juvenile issue was investigated on Glenwood Road at 7:10 p.m. Three juvenile males were asked to leave a restaurant and one named David cursed at the restaurant worker.
Friday, May 24
• A 20 year-old man was West Shore Drive was arrested at 1:35 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
• A 56 year-old New London man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:35 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 2 Blaisdell Point Road at 4:32 p.m. No trespassing signs were removed or damaged each time the complainant installed them. The complainant reported that chains and a surveillance system will be installed.
Saturday, May 25
• A 35 year-old woman of Bangor, Maine was arrested at 8:15 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, possession of less than ½ ounce of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of cannabis. Occupation: house cleaner.
• A larceny was investigated at 12 Fairy Dell Road at 10:49 a.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Taylor Ridge Road at 5:42 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Whippoorwill Lane at 10:43 p.m.
Sunday, May 26
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 75 Nod Road at 4:08 p.m. A mirror was broken on the complainant’s vehicle and a mailbox was stolen.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 100 Waterside Lane at 9:11 p.m.
Monday, May 27
No arrests were made.
• A 60 year-old Westbrook man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:50 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.
• Harassment was investigated on the 100 block of Glenwood Road at 5:08 p.m. A group of kids, some on BMX bikes and some on foot, kicked the complainant’s bike over, called him names, and threw rocks at him and his friends. No one was injured. The accused kids left the scene via Fieldbrook Avenue. Police located the juveniles and spoke with the parents about their inappropriate behavior.
Tuesday, May 28
• A 36 year-old man of Ninety Rod Road was arrested at 7:31 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.
• A theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 5:55 p.m. A woman reported that while she was using the restroom at the outlet mall her vehicle was stolen. It turned out that the woman forgot where she had parked. The vehicle was located in front of the New Balance store.
• A larceny was investigated at 9 Pepperbush Drive at 8:16 p.m. The alleged thief was known by the complainant.
Westbrook
Wednesday, May 22
• A 48 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 7:15 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, manslaughter in the second degree with a motor vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, failure to comply with passing on the right rules, and failure to display lights. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.
• A 29 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 9:26 a.m. and charged with assault in the first degree and kidnapping in the first degree. He was processed and held on a $750,000 surety bond and arraigned in Middletown Superior Court on the following day. The victim was a 24 year-old.
Thursday, May 23
• A 41 year-old North Haven woman was arrested at 9:30 a.m. and charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to drive upon the right. She was processed on a $10,000 surety bond.

Saturday, May 25
• A 22 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 1:01 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
• A 45 year-old Orange man was arrested at 8:59 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
Sunday, May 26
• A 21 year-old Glastonbury woman was arrested at 6:29 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
• A 52 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 8:03 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
Monday, May 27
• A 21 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 3:06 p.m. on a warrant charging him with assault in the third degree. He was processed and released on a $2,500 he posted.
• A 26 year-old Naugatuck man was arrested at 6:31 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree under the domestic violence act. The assault took place while he was driving through Westbrook. The victim was a 57 year-old.

• A 33 year-old Old Lyme man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:28 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to renew registration following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Spring Brook Road.

Friday, May 24
• A 29 year-old Higganum man was arrested at 4:56 a.m. and charged with two counts of assault in the third degree, unlawful restraint, strangulation in the second degree, and two counts of breach of peace in the second degree on the strength of a warrant held by Old Saybrook police. He was processed and held on a $50,000 bond.
• A 56 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 8:45 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
• A 62 year-old Chester man was arrested at 9:25 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.
• A 29 year-old man of Cinnamon Way was arrested at 9:48 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• A 24 year-old man of Main Street was arrested at 10:05 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and having an obstructed view through the windshield.
• A 24 year-old man of Dudley Avenue was arrested at 10:05 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
• A 54 year-old Deep River man was arrested at 10:17 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a narcotic.
Saturday, May 25
• A 57 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at 12:24 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• A 47 year-old Washington man was arrested at 1:05 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and possession of a controlled substance.
• An 18 year-old Westbrook man was arrested at 1:47 a.m. and charged with engaging an officer in pursuit, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of cannabis, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol by a minor.
• A 28 year-old Madison man was arrested at 2:03 a.m. and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of a hallucinogen, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
• A 37 year-old man of Bokum Road was arrested at 2:19 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, interfering with an officer, and drinking while operating a motor vehicle. In the same incident a 38 year-old woman of the same address was arrested and charged with interfering with an officer.
• A 33 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 2:43 a.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, possession of a controlled substance, illegally obtaining or supplying, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and at released after posting a $5,000 surety bond.
• A 46 year-old woman of Lynde Street was arrested at 2:10 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• A 45 year-old man of Day Drive was arrested at 5:08 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the domestic violence act.

Monday, May 27
• A 27 year-old woman of Belchertown, Massachusetts was arrested at 3 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree under the domestic violence act, possession of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
• A 41 year-old Westbrook man was arrested at 7:06 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, and strangulation in the third degree under the domestic violence act.
• A 39 year-old New London man was arrested at 8:06 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
Tuesday, May 28
• a 33 year-old man of Wyandanch, New York was arrested at 2:24 p.m. and charged with identity theft, criminal impersonation, forgery in the second degree, criminal attempt to commit larceny in the fourth degree, and two counts of unlawful reproduction of a credit card. He was processed and held on a $50,000 surety bond. In the same incident a 24 year-old man of New York, New York was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession with intent to sell. He was processed and held on a $20,000 surety bond.
