• A 57 year-old Windsor man was issued a written warning at 1:49 p.m. for failure to grant right of way while making a left turn. He was operating a 2003 Honda CR-V LX eastbound on Main Street when he started to make a left turn onto North Main Street and collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe operated by a 75 year-old Deep River woman who had a 73 year-old male passenger onboard. No injuries were reported or observed at the scene.

• A one-vehicle crash was investigated at 11:58 p.m. A 45 year-old Groton man was operating a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium southbound on Route 9 near exit 4 when he was forced to swerve to avoid a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver. The Ford ran into a metal-beam guardrail. Neither the driver nor his 41 year-old wife, who was a passenger, was injured in the crash. No enforcement action was taken. No additional information was available on the wrong-way driver.

• An 81 year-old man of Comstock Avenue in Ivoryton was issued a warning at 1:27 p.m. for unsafe backing. He backed a 2001 Ford F150 pickup truck out of his driveway into the eastbound lane of Comstock Avenue. A 54 year-old woman who was operating a 2013 Cadillac CTS Luxury Collection was traveling eastbound on Comstock Avenue and stopped in the roadway as the operator of the Ford pulled forward then stopped and began to back toward her. The operator of the Cadillac stated that she was not able to back up fast enough and the Ford backed into the front end of her car. No one was injured in the crash. No vehicles were towed.

• A 68 year-old Killingworth man was issued a citation at 7:08 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions. He was operating a 2005 Toyota 4Runner eastbound on Main Street when he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the right side of the roadway, and struck a chain link fence in front of 88 Main Street. The vehicle sustained minor damage and three feet of fence was damaged. The operator claimed no injuries and none were observed by the investigating trooper.
• A 61 year-old woman of Stanford Hill Road was issued a citation at 8:31 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions. She was operating a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premier eastbound on Standford Hill Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the Saybrook Road intersection, continued across the north and south lanes, and struck a stone wall and wood fence located in front of #93 Saybrook Road. Both the vehicle and the fence sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported by the operator or observed by the investigating trooper.

• A 65 year-old man of Sunset Terrace was issued a warning at 3:50 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. He was operating a 2006 Saab 93 Base southbound on Route 9 in the left lane when he veered off into the center median and exited the travel lane. No one was injured in the crash.

• A 26 year-old woman of Main Street was issued a citation at 8:07 p.m. for traveling too fast for conditions. She lost control of the 2009 Nissan Versa she was operating northbound on Route 9 near exit 5 and veered off the roadway to the left. No injuries were reported or observed.

• A 57 year-old man of Kirtland Street was issued a warning at 3:48 p.m. for failure to grant right of way at an intersection or private driveway. He was operating a 2016 Subaru Forester out of the parking lot of the Ivory Restaurant located at 1 Kirtland Street when he collided with a 2011 Mercedes-Benz operated by a 67 year-old man of Kirtland Street. No one was injured in the crash.
Friday, Feb. 8 to Tuesday, Feb. 12

Wednesday, Feb. 13
• A 39 year-old woman of Prospect Street was arrested at 4:11 p.m. on a warrant charging her with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree. Troopers located her at her apartment and took her into custody without incident. The alleged victim on the incident was an 18 year-old woman.
Thursday, Feb. 14
• A 32 year-old Clinton woman was arrested at 8:55 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive upon the right following a one-vehicle crash. She was operating a 2009 Honda Accord southbound on Route 145 about one-tenth of a mile south of Witch Hazel Drive when she crossed into the northbound lane and struck a mailbox and a tree in front of 182 Route 145. In the same incident a 39 year-old male passenger onboard was arrested and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest. He failed to obey with officer’s commands after several warnings, while officers questioned the driver. He then attempted to run from troopers at the scene; the report notes he fell due to his level of intoxication. While lying on the ground he continued to resist troopers while they attempted to restrain him. He was processed and later transported to Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook for minor injuries he sustained when he fell.
Friday, Feb. 15
• A 49 year-old man of Lobb Lane was arrested on a warrant 1:26 a.m. charging him with evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident in which there was property damage or bodily injury) and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The crash from which he fled occurred on Essex Street on Nov. 17, 2018. The accused stated that he went home because the crash was so close to his house. He also stated that he was arranging to pay the town for the damage his vehicle caused to approximately 30 feet of wood guardrail. The accused secured the services of Attorney Chris Morano, who stated that they did not wish to provide a written statement to police regarding the crash. Troopers, however, believed that probable cause existed for issuance of an arrest warrant. The court agreed.

Thursday, Feb. 28
• A 37 year-old man of Flemington, New Jersey was arrested at 10:38 a.m. and charged with possession of narcotics, conspiracy to commit larceny in the first degree, and attempt to commit a crime. He fraudulently attempted to obtain a large quantity of diabetic test strips from Nutmeg Pharmacy located on Main Street in Centerbrook. He was processed on a $250,000 surety bond.
• A 78 year-old man of Stevenstown Road was arrested at 2:56 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, threatening the first degree, and reckless endangerment in the first degree. He had barricaded himself inside his residence while in possession of several firearms, which forced a police standoff for several hours. A 67 year-old was listed as a victim in the domestic violence related incident. The accused was processed and held on a $250,000 surety bond he could not post.

• An 82 year-old Deep River man was issued a citation at 8:37 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions. He was operating a 2008 Ford Ranger southbound on Walnut Street going up a slight incline in snowy conditions when the vehicle lost traction, spun across the northbound lane, and struck a utility pole located on the north shoulder. The operator sustained a cut on his nose from the airbag deployment. He was driving to a clinic for treatment of abdominal pain.

• A 48 year-old Waterbury man was operating a 2008 Freightliner truck on Main Street when he sideswiped a parked and unoccupied 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe K1500 while turning left onto Bridge Street at 12:32 p.m. No one was injured in the crash. Minor damage occurred. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. No enforcement action was indicated in the police press report.

• A 26 year-old Torrington woman was issued a citation at failure to drive right at 9:12 a.m. She was operating a 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5XS when she drifted off the travel portion of the roadway and struck an embankment. She was transported to Middlesex Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• A 65 year-old woman of Tower Hill Road was issued a citation at 1:05 p.m. for making an unsafe start from a stopped or standing position. She was stopped at the stop sign at the end of the Route 9 exit off-ramp while operating a 2016 Honda. She then proceeded forward and struck the rear of a 2015 Audi A4 operated by a 40 year-old Higganum woman. No one was injured in the crash and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

• A 24 year-old Pawtucket woman was issued a warning at 7:55 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. She was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Spark southbound on Straits Road when she drifted to the right due to sun glare and struck a utility pole located on the right shoulder in front of 39 Straits Road. No one was injured in the crash. The vehicle was towed.
Saturday, Feb. 2 to Wednesday, Jan. 6

Thursday, Jan. 7
• A 23 year-old Killingworth man was arrested at 12:28 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree after troopers were dispatched to the Pattaconk Bar, 33 Main Street, to investigated the report of a disturbance that had occurred earlier.
Friday, Feb. 8 to Monday, Feb. 11

Tuesday, Feb. 12
• A 36 year-old Ivoryton man was arrested at 12:28 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree. He was processed on a $10,000 surety bond. He was an additional party arrested for his involvement in a disturbance at the Pattaconk Bar on Feb. 7.
• A one-vehicle crash was investigated on Kelsey Hill Road at 2:59 p.m. A 17 year-old Old Saybrook girl was operating a 2012 Ford Escape Limited westbound on Kelsey Hill Road in snowy conditions when she applied the brakes the vehicle slide across Warsaw Street and struck a guardrail and post. No one was injured. The vehicle as towed. No enforcement action was indicated in the police press report.

• A 73 year-old man of Village Street was issued a citation at 7:32 a.m. for failure to grant right of way at a driveway. He was operating a 2004 Toyota Camry out of the driveway at 159 Main Street and was struck by a 2005 Hino 268 truck operated by a 22 year-old Hartford man. The Hino had the right of way while traveling eastbound on Main Street. Neither vehicle required towing. No one was injured in the crash.
Sunday, Feb. 17 to Saturday, Feb. 23

Sunday, Feb. 2
• A 19 year-old Lyme man was arrested at 4:02 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, simple trespass, and possession of less than one-half ounce of cannabis. The accused drove onto private property on Sunset Avenue and caused extensive damage to the rear lawn. The owner of the Chester property resides in Middletown.
