Police Incident Report for June 14 to 27
The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Thursday, June 14
• A 38 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 9:23 p.m. on warrants charging him with four counts of failure to appear in the second degree.
• A larceny was investigated at 1010 Route 80 at 3:52 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Highwoods Drive at 10:42 p.m.
Friday, June 15
No arrests were made.
• Harassment was investigated at 1675 Boston Post Road at 6:14 a.m. An incident occurred between a store employee and a customer.
Saturday, June 16
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 351 Three Mile Course at 7:46 a.m.
• A theft of tools from the bed of a truck was investigated at 35 Horseshoe Road at 11:02 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 400 block of South Hoop Pole Road at 9:22 p.m.
Sunday, June 17
No arrests were made.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Edwards Street at 12:03 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated at 400 Church Street at 8:35 p.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 1116 Boston Post Road at 8:38 p.m.
Monday, June 18
No arrests were made.
• A vehicle repossession was conducted at 71 Fall Road at 1:55 a.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 600 block of Boston Post Road at 7:51 a.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on a 300 block of Durham Road at 5:16 p.m.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 45 Clear lake Road at 6:38 p.m.
Tuesday, June 19
• A 56 year-old Guilford woman was arrested at 6:30 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 97 Nut Plains Road at 10:20 a.m. A complainant appeared at police headquarters to report that her vehicle was scratched at some time the previous week.
• A breach of peace incident was investigated at 617 Boston Post Road at 1:31 p.m. Five officers responded to the call.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 180 Oxbow Lane at 2:37 p.m. A complainant appeared at police headquarters to document a fraudulent letter he received.
Wednesday, June 20
No arrests were made.
• A complaint about fraud via an email hack was investigated at 563 Podunk Road at 7:33 a.m.
Thursday, June 21
• A 43 year-old man and a 56 year-old man of the same River Colony Road residence were arrested at 11 p.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.
• Criminal trespass was investigated on Colonial Road at 5:06 p.m. A complainant reported an ongoing problem with juveniles using his dock.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated on the 300 block of Woodland Road at 5:19 p.m. Damage to a hedge was reported as an ongoing problem.
Friday, June 22
• A 33 year-old Branford man was arrested at 10:20 a.m. and charged with two counts of violation of probation.
• A 29 year-old man of Biddeford, Maine was arrested at 4:30 p.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree and criminal mischief in the third degree. The accused was apprehended by police when he was exiting the Goose Lane residence he allegedly broke into when no one was home. Six police officers responded to the call. The homeowner contacted police after seeing a male subject enter the residence via a surveillance system. Police reported that the incident appeared to be isolated and that no other residences were affected. The Guilford Police Department issued a press release, which also reminded all residents to “report suspicious activity as it is occurring and to always remember to secure your residence and vehicles.”
• A complaint about a refrigerator on a front lawn with its door still attached, thus making a hazard, was investigated on Cedar Hill Road at 4:18 p.m.
• A vehicle repossession was reported at 1937 Little Meadow Road at 6:53 p.m.
Saturday, June 23
No arrests were made.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Summer Street at 7:52 a.m. A bed was put outside earlier in the month and a complainant had questions about the eviction process.
• Harassment was investigated on Dohm Avenue at 10:36 a.m.
Sunday, June 24
No arrests were made.
• A breach of peace incident was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 7:10 p.m.
Monday, June 25
• A 44 year-old man of Whitfield Street was arrested at 11:53 a.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, assault on a public safety officer, breach of peace in the second degree, and threatening in the second degree.
• The theft of a motor vehicle was reported at 51 Autumn Ridge Drive at 7 a.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 34 Raymond Road at 7:55 a.m. The homeowner heard noises at 11 p.m. the night before and woke to find that her house had been egged.
• Identity fraud was investigated at 59 George Street at 6:48 p.m. Accounts were opened using the complaint’s name and her social security number. The fraud was discovered when she checked her credit report.
Tuesday, June 26
• A 31 year-old Newington man was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 1 Shoreline Drive at 7:08 a.m. A vehicle was damaged the day before.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 2257 Boston Post Road at 10:57 a.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 8 Winterberry Road at 12:03 p.m.
Wednesday, June 27
• A 29 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 3:57 p.m. and charged with two counts of possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis (or an uncontrolled substance) and two counts of use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Threatening was investigated on Milford Road at 6:57 p.m.
• Sudden death/bodies found was reported at 78 Mohawk Trail at 11:02 p.m.
