Police Incident Report for March 28 to April 10
The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Wednesday, March 28
• A 46 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 8:50 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
Thursday, March 29 to Friday, March 30

Saturday, March 31
No arrests were made.
• A 27 year-old West Haven man was issued a citation at 5:45 p.m. for walking in the road instead of using the available sidewalk.
Sunday, April 1 to Monday, April 2
No arrests were made.
Tuesday, April 3
• A 37 year-old man of Clark Avenue was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• A 43 year-old New Haven man was issued a citation at 12:35 p.m. for simple trespass.
• A 41 year-old Hartford man was issued a citation at 12:59 p.m. for simple trespass.
Wednesday, April 4
• A 53 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.
• A 23 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, breach of peace in the second degree, threatening in the second degree.
Thursday, April 5
• A 24 year-old Meriden woman was arrested at 3:06 p.m. and charged with two counts larceny in the fifth degree.
Friday, April 6
No arrests were made.
• A 38 year-old Meriden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:45 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and misuse of plate.
Saturday, April 7
No arrests were made.
• A 44 year-old man of Rimmon Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:46 pm. For operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to registered a commercial vehicle.
Sunday, April 8
• A 29 year-old woman of Easton Street was arrested at 11:44 a.m. and charged with failure to vaccinate a dog or cat against rabies, failure to comply with the rules of dog ownership, possession of a vicious/barking dog, and permitting a dog to roam at large.
• A 48 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5:26 p.m. and charged with reckless driving, breach of peace in the second degree, and assault in the third degree.
• A 39 year-old man of Sackett Point Road was arrested at 5:26 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and reckless driving. In the same incident at 40 year-old woman of the same residence was charged with breach of peace in the second degree.
Monday, April 9
• A 36 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10:45 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.
• A 54 year-old Bristol man was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
Tuesday, April 10
• A 66 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 6:24 a.m. and charged with violation of a protective order.
• A 32 year-old man of a State Street apartment was arrested at 5:20 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
• A 28 year-old woman of Sentinel Hill Road was arrested at 5:22 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.
From March 28 to April 10, North Haven police issued eight citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, eight citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, three citations for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, three citation for failure to renew registration, two citations for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, two citations for failure to obey a stop sign, and two citations for failure to grant right of way. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to carry insurance card, failure to grant one-half of highway to an oncoming vehicle, failure to obey a control signal, failure to register a commercial vehicle, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to renew driver’s license.
