The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Thursday, Jan. 25
No arrests were made.
• A complaint about credit card fraud was investigated at 154 Union Street at 4:23 p.m.
• A complaint about flim flam was investigated at 52 Apple Tree Lane at 4:29 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 26
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 354 Old Whitfield Street at 1:24 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 27
No arrests were made.
• A report of a missing adult was investigated at 4500 Durham Road at 5:55 p.m. Canine Officer Bartlett and police canine partner Kobe were called in for the search.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated on the 100 block of Lake Drive at 11:28 p.m. A complainant reported that a neighbor was yelling in the driveway.
Sunday, Jan. 28
No arrests were made.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 600 block of North Madison Road at 10:51 a.m.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated a 5 Boston Terrace at 6:47 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 29
• A 21 year-old woman of North Madison Road was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, disorderly conduct, interfering the an officer/resisting arrest, and assault in the third degree.
• A 29 year-old Branford man was arrested at 1:15 p.m. and charged with four counts of larceny in the sixth degree. The accused is alleged to be responsible for the theft of numerous catalytic converters from vehicles during daylight hours while those vehicles were parked at commuter and train station parking lots in Madison, Guilford, and Branford. The thefts occurred over the past several months.
• A 23 year-old man of Whispering Woods Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:07 a.m. for possession of greater than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance.
• A larceny was investigated at 111 Goose Lane at 11:47 a.m.
• Breach of peace was investigated at 233 Church Street at 4:56 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 30
• A 44 year-old man of Race Hill Road was arrested at 9:30 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the third degree, and interfering with a search.
• A complaint about counterfeiting was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 11:49 a.m.
• Threatening was investigated on the 200 block of Woodland Road at 9:39 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 31
• A 32 year-old man of Grey Ledge Drive was arrested at 10:45 a.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor.
• A larceny was investigated at 111 Goose Lane at 9:58 a.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 50 Kenneth Circle at 11:55 a.m.
• Criminal trespass was investigated at 900 Wal-Mart, Boston Post Road, at 12:13 p.m.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 169 Northwood Drive at 12:25 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 1
No arrests were made.
• A report of a 29 month-old child locked [in an unspecified enclosure] was investigated at 169 Ledge Hill Road at 9:15 a.m. The Fire Department also responded.
• Breach of peace was investigated at police headquarters, 400 Church Street, via a walk-in complainant at 11:44 a.m.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 50 Ledge Hill Road at 2:54 p.m.
• Medical assistance was requested at Guilford High School, 605 New England Road, at 7:29 p.m. Details were redacted by police.
Friday, Feb. 2
• A 38 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, two counts of leaving a child under the age of 12 unsupervised in a public place or a motor vehicle, and two counts of transporting a child under the age of 6 or weighing fewer that 60 pounds without a proper restraint as well as operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, and operating a motor vehicle without an ignition device as required by a court order.
• A 29 year-old man of Golden Hill Drive was arrested at 2:01 p.m. and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
• A 34 year-old Westport woman was arrested at 2:06 p.m. and charged with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.
• A burglary was investigated at 570 Tanner Marsh Road at 9:51 a.m. An unlocked vehicle was entered. Footprints were found around the house.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 51 Cindy Lane at 10:12 a.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 830 Boston Post Road at 2:01 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 1600 bloc of Hoop Pole Road at 7:48 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 3
No arrests were made.
• The left of a motor vehicle was investigated at 12 Rosemary Lane at 7:09 a.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 12 Halleck Street at 7:40 a.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 5 Rosemary Lane at 7:56 a.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 59 Norton Avenue was investigated at 9:44 a.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 12 Ives Place at 9:59 a.m.
Sunday, Feb 4
No arrests were made.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 200 block of Church Street at 6:58 a.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 1600 block of Hoop Pole Road at 3:48 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated at the 66 High Street condominium complex at 9:35 p.m. The incident was a dispute between a son and mother. Verbal altercation only. A 911 hang-up call was part of the incident.
• A domestic dispute was investigated at 10:04 p.m. The incident involved a verbal argument between a daughter and mother. The mother hung up on dispatch without giving location or full name. When police spoke with the complainant, they learned that the daughter was upset because she had to leave a party and was not allowed to sleep over.
Monday, Feb. 5
No arrests were made.
Tuesday, Feb. 6
• A 41 year-old North Branford man was arrested at 6:35 p.m. and charged with criminal violation of a restraining order.
Wednesday, Feb. 7
No arrests were made.
• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Mohawk Trail at 12:36 p.m. The complainant reported that there was an ongoing issue with a neighbor who was speaking with her child.
• Firearms were turned over to police for destruction at 400 Church Street at 1:49 p.m.
• A stolen cell phone was tracked to 2641 Long Hill Road at 10:06 p.m. The cell phone was returned to the owner. The North Branford Police Department was the complainant in the case.
Thursday, Feb. 8
• A 33 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• Suspicious activity was investigated on the 300 block of Saw Hill Road at 3:10 a.m. A small black car driven by a black male wearing a dark hood drove past two 8th-grade girls, slowed down, and the male took a picture of the girls as they walked home from the bus drop-off point. The vehicle was driven away toward Hubbard Road. The vehicle was described as being dirty with a white piece of paper taped to the rear window. Additional details of the incident were redacted by police since the case is still under investigation.
• Illegal dumping was investigated at 647 Boston Post Road at 5:14 p.m. A caller reported that a white male in his 60s and wearing glasses dumped trash in a Dumpster on the property. The man drove a newer white vehicle bearing Connecticut registration plate 7AVNU1. A search of the license plate revealed that it is registered to a 2012 Honda CR-Z two-door Hatchback.
Friday, Feb. 9
• A 26 year-old Shelton man was arrested at 9:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree and forgery in the third degree.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 500 block of Nut Plains Road at 9:11 a.m.
• A breach or peace incident was investigated on the 500 block of Route 80 at 10:17 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 10
• An 18 year-old man of North Mill Circle was arrested at 6 p.m. and charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of less than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance.
• A complaint about fraud was investigated at police headquarters via a walk-in complainant. An elderly woman received a scam call.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Saw Pit Road at 3:17 p.m. The complainant reported that his housemate hit him with a chair.
• A complaint about loud music emanating from the Country Tavern, 704 Long Hill Road, was investigated at 10:49 p.m. Police spoke with the bartender and advised him to turn the music down, although police noted that the music did not seem excessively loud.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Sperry Drive at 10:39 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 12
• A 20 year-old man of Sperry Drive was arrested at 12:25 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 100 block of Middle Road at 1:07 a.m.
• Harassment was investigated at 3080 Boston Post Road at 2:29 p.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 315 Willow Road at 4:40 p.m.
• A domestic dispute was investigated on Fawn Lane 5:06 p.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 1919 Boston Post Road at 5:10 p.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 28 North Street at 8:58 p.m.
• Harassment was investigated on the 200 block of Nut Plains Road at 11:12 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 13
• A 29 year—old Branford man was arrested at 12:49 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• A 52 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 3:15 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.
• A burglary was investigated at 93 Sperry Drive at 9:09 a.m.
• A burglary was investigated at 102 Horseshoe Road at 9:39 a.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 14
No arrests were made.
• Harassment was investigated on Mill Stone Drive at 8:25 a.m.
• A larceny was investigated at 148 Broad Street at 5:46 p.m.
