• A 27 year-old man of Providence, Rhode Island was arrested at 10:33 a.m. and charged with criminal attempt to commit larceny in the second degree, illegal use of a credit card, criminal impersonation, forgery in the first degree, and interfering with an officer.
• A theft was investigated at 290 Green Hill Road at 3:30 a.m.
• A theft was investigated at 67 Allison Drive at 9:16 a.m.
• A fraud complaint was investigated at 600 Boston Post Road at 7:33 a.m.
• An animal nuisance was reported at 122 Middle Beach Drive at 10:51 a.m.

• A 32 year-old man of St. Francis Woods Road was arrested at 11:55 p.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident).

• An animal nuisance that resulted in a dog being placed into the animal shelter was reported on New Road at Birch Lane at 5:49 p.m.

• A 63 year-old man of Berlin Center, Ohio was issued a citation at 11:36 a.m. for failure to keep right on a hill or curve after the 2002 Ford 750 he was operating eastbound on Roast Meat Hill Road crossed over the yellow line while negotiating a left curve and collided with 2007 Subaru Impreza that was being operated westbound by a 17 year-old Guilford girl who was taking a driving lesson with a 47 year-old male instructor of North Haven. No injuries were reported or observed.

• At 1:15 p.m. police reported that a 22 year-old Higganum man was operating a 2003 Saab northbound on Reservoir Road when he sideswiped a parked 1998 Freightliner operated by a 23 year-old Northford man. The accused fled the scene and was then involved in other collisions before sustaining life-threatening head injuries in one of the collisions. He was transported by Life Star helicopter to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
• A 17 year-old Clinton boy was issued a citation at 2:41 p.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart after the 1997 Jeep Wrangler he was operating southbound on Route 81 struck the rear of a 2004 Honda CR-V operated by an 81 year-old Clinton man. No injuries were reported or observed.
Friday, Sept. 2 to Tuesday, Sept. 6
