• A 43 year-old Milford man was arrested at 10 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree.
• At 8:58 a.m. a resident of Sugar Bush Lane reported that an animal was struck and killed by a truck in front his home.
• A family dispute was investigated on the 900 block of Maple Hill Road at 10:34 a.m. The dispute (verbal only) was between a mother and son over the will of the son's deceased father.
• Criminal mischief was investigated at 711 New England Road at 4:47 p.m. A teenager hit a passing vehicle with a hockey stick.
• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Harbor View Road at 5:57 p.m. The complainant reported spray paint on bushes, rocks, and signs. The issue is ongoing and believed to be the action of a neighbor.
• At 9:55 p.m. parent on Hawthorn Road reported that her 10 year-old son received "concerning pictures" via a social networking site.
Tuesday, April 14
No arrests were made.
• An animal nuisance was reported in front of 176 Durham Road at 8:23 a.m. An injured hawk was found on the side of the road. The animal control officer brought the hawk to the Branford Veterinary Hospital.
• A complaint about identity theft involving a false income tax filing was investigated at 3 Adirondack Lane at 1:07 p.m.
Wednesday, April 15
No arrests were made.
• A complaint about identity theft involving a false income tax filing was investigated at 52 Bar Gate Road at 8:35 a.m.
• A complaint about identity theft involving a false income tax filing was investigated at 77 Stoneside Lane at 3:32 p.m.
• A complaint about identity theft involving a false income tax filing was investigated at 21 Arrowhead Drive at 4:46 p.m.
• Suspicious activity was reported at 31 Park Street at 5:18 p.m. A male party asked to be let into the town hall after hours. The man was let into the building by unknown subjects.
• The repossession of a vehicle took place at 97 Elm Street without incident at 6:31 p.m.
During the week of April 9 to 15 Guilford Police received 143 calls for service. Police made one arrest, investigated 10 motor vehicle accidents, and issued seven citations, 36 written warnings, five verbal warnings, and one parking tag. Police also responded to 10 burglar alarms. A total of 257 incidents were handled by police.
