Essex Police Incident Report for Nov. 27 to Dec. 3
The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Wednesday, Nov. 27
• A 34 year-old Deep River man was arrested at 5:36 a.m. on a warrant charging him with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
• An 82 year-old Chester man was issued a written warning at 12:13 p.m. for failure to grant right of way at a private driveway after the 2004 Nissan Frontier he was operating from a commercial drive across Route 153 was struck by an oncoming 2011 Chevy Colorado operated by a 66 year-old man of Harborview North. No injuries were reported at the scene as a result of the accident.
Thursday, Nov. 28
• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
Friday, Nov. 29
• A 53 year-old man of Fife Court was arrested at 3:27 p.m. and charged with breach of peace via threatening following a disturbance over a shared driveway. He was processed on a $2,500 bond amount.
• A 50 year-old man of Main Street in Centerbrook was arrested at 8:40 p.m. and charged with evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The accused was operating a 2007 Ford F-150 eastbound on Main Street in Ivoryton when the vehicle left the roadway and struck SNET pole #739. The operator left the scene and was located by police at his residence. He was released after posting a $5,000 surety bond.
Saturday, Nov. 30 - Tuesday, Dec. 3
• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
