North Branford Police Incident Report for Nov. 17 to 19


The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Sunday, Nov. 17

• An 18 year-old Wallingford man was arrested at 1:48 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drug following a motor vehicle stop on the 400 block of Foxon Road. Occupation: Cashier.

• A 23 year-old man of Mountainview Terrace in Northford was arrested at 9:25 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Middletown Avenue at Spruce Street. He was charged after failing a standardized field sobriety test. Occupation: unemployed.

• A 36 year-old Guilford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:01 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension.

Monday, Nov. 18

• A 21 year-old man of Totoket Road was arrested at 11:52 p.m. and charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, uses and possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

• No arrests were made.

• From October 30 to November 19 North Branford police also issued 14 citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, eight citations for traveling unreasonably fast, three citations for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, three citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, two citations for failure to drive right, and two citations for traveling too fast for conditions.
