Clinton Police Incident Report for March 15 and 16


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Friday, March 15

• A 42 year-old woman of East Main Street was issued a citation at 6:00 a.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to have tail lamps, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street.

• The Clinton animal control department issued a press release asking for help in identifying two dogs that attacked a third dog on March 11 at 6 a.m. The complainant was walking her Greyhound in the area of Pleasant Valley Road and Carter Hill Road when she heard a growl and her dog was attacked by a brown colored Pit Bull wearing either a red collar or a bandana. The second dog accused in the attack was a smaller, black colored short haired mixed breed. • No arrests were made.

• A 21 year-old Killingworth man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:45 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor accident with injuries on Old Post Road at Carriage Drive.

• A 16 year-old was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:53 p.m. for possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana and use or possession of marijuana containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana following the report of a suspicious motor vehicle on Airline Road.

• A 24 year-old woman of Brian Avenue was issued a citation at 10:27 p.m. for possession and use of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana following the report of a suspicious vehicle on Airline Road.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Airline Road at 8:06 a.m.

• Identity theft was investigated on Lafayette Green Road at 4:45 p.m.
