Westbrook Police Incident Report for Sept. 5 to 8


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, Sept. 5

• A 24 year-old man of Hudson, Massachusetts was arrested at 5:45 a.m. and a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He failed to show up in court for prior charges of disorderly conduct and threatening stemming from an incident that occurred in the Westbrook area. He turned himself over to police know a warrant had been issued. He was processed on a $10,000 surety bond pending court presentation.

• A 49 year-old West Hartford man was arrested at 10:52 pm. and charge with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop for erratic driving.

Thursday, Sept. 6 - Friday, Sept. 7

• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

Saturday, Sept. 8

• No arrests were made.

• At 3:54 p.m. Trooper Wayne Buck reported that a 16 year-old boy of Essex Road was operating a Taotao 50CC motor bike when he attempted to enter Route 1 northbound from Fawn Hill Road and struck a 2007 Audi AS operated by a 67 year-old woman of Meadowbrook Road. Minor injuries were reported. No enforcement action was indicated.
