Old Saybrook Police Incident Report for Aug. 26 to 28
The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Sunday, Aug. 26
• No arrests were made.
Monday, Aug. 27
• Two 16 year-olds and a 15 year-old were arrested at 6:50 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, and criminal attempt to criminal mischief. One 16 year-old was also issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. Each youth was scheduled to appear in Middletown Juvenile Court on September 12.
Tuesday, Aug. 28
• A 38 year-old Westbrook woman was arrested at 8:02 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.
• From August 22 to 28 Old Saybrook police also issued four citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and three citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. One citation was issued for each of the following: traveling unreasonably fast, using a hand-held cell phone while driving, failure to renew driver’s license, failure to carry insurance identification, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. Two citations were also issued to boaters for wake violations.
