Westbrook Police Incident Report for July 25 to 31


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, July 25

• A 52 year-old Old Saybrook man was arrested at 7:59 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless driving. He was radar clocked driving at 120 mile per hour. Once stopped, he failed a standardized field sobriety test.

• A 48 year-old Higganum man was issued a citation at 9:58 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway after the lost control of the Freightliner truck he was operating when he braked for traffic and struck a barrier. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Thursday, July 26

• No arrests were made.

• A 79 year-old Essex man was issued a citation at 12:41 p.m. for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart after the 2005 Subaru he was operating on Petipaug Road struck the rear of a 1997 Jaguar X16 operated by a 44 year-old Ivoryton man. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Friday, July 27 - Tuesday, July 31

• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
