• A 30 year-old Essex woman was arrested at 10 a.m. on a warrant charging her with larceny in the second degree following an investigation into a larceny at Eves Addiction located on Grove Street. She was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond pending an unspecified court date.
• A 47 year-old Old Saybrook woman was arrested at 11:06 p.m. and charge with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. Troopers responded to several 911 cell phone calls reporting erratic operation of a motor vehicle. Officer Raymond Sypher verified the erratic operation via direct observation and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The operator of the vehicle failed a standardized field sobriety test.
• At 3:19 p.m. Trooper Russell Gingras reported that a 74 year-old Haddam man was operating a 2009 Toyota Camry southbound on Route 154 when he attempted to turn east onto West avenue. During the turn he struck a 2007 Hyundai Tuscon operated by an 18 year-old Centerbrook woman who was traveling northbound through the Route 154/West Avenue intersection. No injuries were reported at the scene and no enforcement action was indicated.
