Guilford Police Incident Report for June 8


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for length and content.Wednesday, June 8From June 2 through June 8 the Guilford Police Department received 292 calls for service. Police made eight arrests, investigated 10 motor vehicle accidents, issued 19 infractions, 33 written warnings and four verbal warnings. Police made eight child safety seat installations. • A 48 year-old Huntington resident was charged on a warrant with issuing a bad check and fifth-degree larceny. 

• A jewelry box was found on the ground, Peddlers Road, 5:30 a.m. and a Massachusetts license plate was later found in the same area, reported at 6:07 a.m.

• Motor vehicle violation, special needs vehicle operator reported for consistently driving recklessly, speeding through intersection, Durham Road, 2200 block. Police were given the vehicle’s license plate number.

• Theft, Ipad taken from shopping cart, Big Y; 830 Boston Post Road; incident occurred June 6.

• A resident reported being harassed via phone and in person.

• A credit card was reported found in the White Birch Drive beach parking lot on June 7.

• Suspicious activity, caller contacted police at 2:21 p.m. to report a suspicious male in his 60’s sat with 14 year-old girls at library on June 7. The caller contacted police again at 3:59 p.m. to report the male was now back in the library, 67 Park St. No other details were available.

• Family dispute, Old Whitfield Street, 2:56 p.m.

• Shoplifting incident, two in custody in security office, Big Y, 830 Boston Post Road, 3:01 p.m.

• Family dispute, Laurel Cliffs Road., 3:22 p.m.

• A wallet was found under a bench on the town green and turned in at police headquarters, 400 Church St.

• Family dispute, Laurel Cliffs Road, 7:06 p.m.

• Criminal mischief, stop sign painted over with large “10” in black, Redcoat Lane.

• A wallet was found on Church Street.

• A wallet was found on the Boston Post Road, 400 block.
