Chester Police Incident Report for Jan. 9
The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content. Sunday, Jan. 9Senior correspondent Jason J. • A 65 year-old man of Kings Highway was arrested at 2:44 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree following a domestic dispute between two brothers. What began as a verbal argument escalated to the physical assault of a 57 year-old man was struck in the face several times and suffered physical injury. The accused was released after posting a $500 surety bond pending court arraignment.
• At 12:49 a.m. Trooper Nicholas Tewell reported that a 56 year-old Middletown man was operating a 2010 Chevy Camaro when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that evaded the scene. No injuries were reported at the scene but the Camaro required towing.
