Deep River Police Incident Report for Aug. 7 to 10


The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content. • No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

• Citizen’s assistance was provided at 9 Maple Avenue by Trooper Debra-Ann Turner at 5:01 p.m.

• No arrests were made.

• At 11:24 a.m. Trooper Gary Inglis reported that an 80 year-old man of Witch Hazel Drive was operating a 1998 Mercury Sable when be backed out of a parking stall in the parking of lot of Adam’s Supermarket on Main street and struck a pedestrian as she was walking behind him. The woman was knocked to the ground and the Sable continued to back up dragging the woman until the vehicle came to final rest after striking two parked vehicles located by the front of the store. The victim was transported to Hartford Hospital by Lifestar. A 1994 Toyota Corolla owned by a 63 year-old man of Kelsey Hill Road and a 2002 Ford owned by a Chester woman were struck during the incident. Witnesses to the accident are asked to contact Trooper Gary Inglis at 860-399-2100.
