Chester Police Incident Report for July 16
The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

• A 45 year-old Windsor man was arrested at 11:36 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Route 82 for erratic operation of his vehicle. He then failed a standardized field sobriety test. The accused was released at 7:45 a.m. the following morning after posting a $2,000 surety bond and turned over to the custody of a 48 year-old woman and issued a July 29 court date.
• A larceny was investigated at 140 Main Street by Trooper Judson Howes at 12:17 p.m.
