Deep River Police Incident Report for July 14 to 16

The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. Wednesday, July 14 - Thursday, July 15Friday, July 16

• No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

• A 16 year-old of unlisted address was arrested at 11:09 a.m. on a warrant charging escape from custody. The accused was processed on a $1,000 bond.

• A 38 year-old Vernon man was arrested at 5:50 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and risk of injury to a minor after police were dispatched to the area of Hillside Terrace and Route 80 for the report of an intoxicated driver operating a Jeep. Police observed the dark colored Jeep operated by a white male and stopped the vehicle to find he had his four year-old daughter onboard. The operator failed a standardized field sobriety test. He was processed and released at 11:40 p.m. on a $5,000 non-surety bond pending an unspecified court date.
