The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.
Clinton
Wednesday, March 10
• A 44 year-old man of Sunnybrook Lane was arrested on a warrant charging him with sexual assault in the second degree, aggravated sexual assault of a minor, risk of injury to a minor (forcible sexual contact), cruelty to persons, and unlawful restraint in the first degree.
Thursday, March 11
• A 31 year-old Guilford man was arrested on a warrant charging him with burglary in the third degree and larceny in the fourth degree.
• A 35 year-old Deep River woman was arrested on Killingworth Turnpike on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.
• A 23 year-old New Haven man was arrested on a warrant charging him with larceny in the third degree.
• A 23 year-old woman of a Post Office Square address was issued a misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension and failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat following a motor vehicle stop on West Main Street.
Friday, March 12
• A 25 year-old man of West Main Street was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.
• A 27 year-old Killingworth man was arrested on a warrant charging him with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to have insurance, and improper use of registration plates.
• A 13 year-old juvenile was arrested on Fairy Dell Road and charged with assault in the third degree.
• A 31 year-old woman of Bargate Road was arrested on a warrant charging her with larceny in the fifth degree.
• A larceny was investigated on Bluff Avenue.
Saturday, March 13
• A 52 year-old Hartford woman and a 49 year-old Hartford woman were charged with larceny in the fifth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.
• A 22 year-old Madison man was issued a misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension, failure to have tail lamps or marker lights illuminated, and traveling unreasonably fast.
• Criminal mischief was investigated on River Road.
Sunday, March 14
• A 25 year-old man of Cow Hill road was charged with disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute.
• A 28 year-old man of East Main Street was charged with breach of peace following a domestic dispute. He was charged additionally with violation of probation.
• Criminal mischief was investigated on Riverside Drive.
Monday, March 15
No arrests were made.
• A larceny was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike.
Tuesday, March 16
No arrests were made.
• Criminal mischief was investigated on East Main Street.
• A minor juvenile complaint was investigated on Fairy Dell Road.
• Criminal mischief was investigated on Longate Road.
Westbrook
Wednesday, March 10
No arrests were made and no significant incidents were reported.
Thursday, March 11
• A 26 year-old Meriden woman was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation, three counts of larceny in the third degree, and three counts of burglary in the third degree.
• Police investigated a complaint of criminal mischief at the Westbrook Medical Center, 4 North Grove Beach Road. The case remains under investigation.
Friday, March 12
No arrests were made and no significant incidents were reported.
Saturday, March 13
No arrests were made.
• A green Nissan went through the intersection of Fishing Brook and Boon Circle and struck a stone wall in front of the home of a 54 year-old man. The operator then fled northbound on Boone Circle. The case remains under investigation.
Sunday, March 14 to Tuesday, March 16
No arrests were made and no significant incidents were reported.
Old Saybrook
Wednesday, March 10
• A 20 year-old Cromwell man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
• A 40 year-old woman of West King Street was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor and two counts of reckless endangerment in the second degree. She was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
• A 37 year-old Moodus man was cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle after being stopped for speeding on Middlesex Turnpike.
• A 28 year-old man of Boston Post Road was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license after being stopped for speeding on Middlesex Turnpike.
Thursday, March 11
No arrests were made.
• A 53 year-old West Haven man was cited for operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-held cell phone after being stopped on Route 1.
• A 16 year-old juvenile was cited for a passenger restriction violation after being stopped on Ingham Hill Road.
Friday, March 12
• A 24 year-old man of Homestead Street, a 26 year-old man of Beaver Dam Trail, and a 27 year-old man of Old Post Road were charged with illegal possession of fireworks and breach of peace in the second degree.
Saturday, March 13
No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.
Sunday, March 14
• A 15 year-old juvenile was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and disorderly conduct.
• A 61 year-old man was issued a misdemeanor for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle following an accident in which there was property damage or bodily injury. The accident occurred on March 13.
Monday, March 15
No arrests were made and no significant incidents were reported.
Tuesday, March 16
• A 29 year-old Madison man was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a dangerous weapon, and having weapons in a motor vehicle after he was stopped and cited for failure to obey an overhead signal on Elm Street at Route One. In the same incident at 21 year-old East Haven man was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men were released on $2,500 non-surety bonds.
