Waterford man charged with selling crack in Vermont
Federal authorities said they have charged a 44-year-old Waterford man with selling crack cocaine while staying at a Burlington, Vt., apartment.
Jahking “Stop Sign” Allah, 44, of Quaker Hill, was charged Jan. 19 with distribution of crack cocaine. He is accused of selling crack on two occasions to a person in Burlington who was cooperating with authorities, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont.
Burlington police searched the apartment where Allah was staying and said they found seven handguns, two of which had been reported stolen, approximately 85 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 25 grams of suspected fentanyl and multiple digital scales, according to the release. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
It was the largest number of pistols that the Burlington Police Department has ever recovered during a single search warrant execution, the release said.
Allah is not facing federal firearms charges in the District of Vermont at this time, according to U.S. Attorney Nikolas Kerest. He was scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court in Vermont on Wednesday.
Burlington police could not be reached for comment about any additional charges.
Allah was sentenced to 42 months in prison following a 2016 conviction for possession of narcotics with intent to sell after being arrested by Groton City police.
