Muriel Giaquinto
Muriel Austine (Garrison) Giaquinto, 96, of East Haven, passed away on Oct. 23, 2024, at home. She was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Jacksonville, Georgia, to John and Edna (Bowen) Garrison. Muriel is survived by her two devoted children, Donna Giaquinto of East Haven and Keith Giaquinto of East Haven and Florida. Muriel is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with one sister-in-law, Annette Occhipinti, of West Haven. Muriel is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Giaquinto (2017); two brothers, Levi Jack Garrison and John Garrison; a niece, Janet Criscio; and a nephew, Rick Garrison.
Muriel was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She was a founding member of the Evangelical Baptist Church in North Haven and a member of the East Haven senior swim group. She enjoyed crafting, tending to her flowers, and taking bus trips with family and friends. She enjoyed making her “southern” dishes and was known for her sparkling jewelry. Muriel was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all.
Family received friends on Oct. 28 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. Her funeral service was held on Oct. 29 in Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, followed by her burial at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
