Jeanette Ingalls
Jeanette A. Ingalls, age 96, of East Lyme and Clinton, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 12, 2024. She was born in Bar Harbor, Maine, on July 2, 1928, to Walter Webber and Lulu (Haslem) Webber.
Jeanette married Richard Ingalls in 1946. They had eight children and were married for 43 years before he passed away in 1989. They raised their children in Clinton.
Jeanette was an active member of the Westbrook Congregational Church for over 65 years. She was very involved with the Old Saybrook VFW Aux for 62 years, where she held many positions and attended state and national conventions. She was the recipient of the Mary Romano Exemplary Award.
She was a very giving person. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her hobbies included knitting and needlepoint, and she enjoyed a good game of cards.
She is survived by her children: Jeanette (Steven) Miles, Peggy (Bob) Nelson, Jerry (Georgene) Ingalls, Robert (Nancy) Ingalls, Paul (Marla) Ingalls and Paula (Edward) Smith. She was a grandmother to 18, a great-grandmother to 20, and a great-great-grandmother to seven. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two daughters, Barbara (Pete) Atkinson and Yvonne (Scott) Davenport; also a grandson, Keith Ingalls; and three sisters.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Westbrook Congregational Church, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. A private burial will be held at the family’s discretion.
