Doris P. Andrews


Doris P. Andrews (née Prusski), 79, passed away peacefully on Sept. 25, 2024, in Hartford. Born Jan. 29, 1945, in New Haven, Doris dedicated over 30 years of service to the Guilford Free Library, enriching the lives of community members through her commitment to literacy and learning.

Doris was a devoted wife to her late husband Sheldon Andrews and a loving mother to her sons: Thomas Andrews (Dawn) grandchildren, Alyssa, Thomas Jr. and Holly Andrews, Rebecca Baker-Blain, Russell Baker, Jane Kaeser; son Michael Andrews and Melissa Fisher mother of grandchildren, Nicole, Michael Jr. Andrews; great-grandchildren, MaryJane and John Kaeser. Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Known for her kind and nurturing nature, Doris was loved by all who knew her. She and Sheldon shared a passion for travel, often escaping to the serene landscapes of Maine and Vermont, which brought them much peace and happiness.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon, and her parents, Zigmund and Doris Prusski. Her legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
