10/17/2024 12:14 PMElizabeth “Beth” Jahreis, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was 75 years old. Born on June 8, 1949, in Salem, Massachusetts, Beth was the daughter of the late Robert and Ann Gray Haseltine. She was the sister of Robert Haseltine of Clinton, Thomas Haseltine of Taunton, Massachusetts, and Mary Ann Tourkantonis of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Jahreis, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Beth was the loving mother of Peter Laurence Jahreis (wife Alisha) of Gardnerville, Nevada, and Katherine Ann Jahreis (husband Joseph Jodrey) of Ashland, Massachusetts. She was a cherished grandmother to Camden, Zachary, Colt, Jack, and Eleanor, who brought her great joy.
For over 30 years, Beth made her home in Short Beach in Branford. She found joy in her beautiful garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her flowers. Her love for the ocean was evident in her frequent trips on the boat with family and friends, enjoying the beauty and tranquility. Beth will be remembered for her strong spirit, nurturing nature, and the love she had for her family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Mary Church of St. John Bosco Parish in Branford. Friends may call prior to the Mass from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Burial will be private.
