Kathleen Suprin

Kathleen “Kathy” McCarthy Suprin was born on Nov. 18, 1949, in Hartford and peacefully passed into eternal life surrounded by her family on Sept. 21, 2024. She grew up in Farmington and spent most of her adult life in Waterford, where she enjoyed all that Waterford had to offer. She and her husband, Paul, retired to Jensen Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed time with their new and old friends.

Kathy’s career highlighted her strengths as a bilingual educator who loved math and science. As her career progressed, she advanced her own education at the University of Hartford to become a school administrator. She was most recently the first principal of The Friendship School, where she loved her work and the people around her, especially the little ones.

Molded by the more peaceful elements of the ’60s and her love of her younger siblings, she carried the love and thoughtfulness of her youth into her family life, friendships, career, and hobbies. She was a dedicated Mom who patiently, selflessly, and lovingly shared her love of music, gardening, reading, and family. She supported her family in all of their endeavors, whether on a sailing trip, as a Girl Scout leader, cheering for a sports team, or in a new job or business. She is an angel who truly belongs among the clouds.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband Paul, daughter Melissa, son Alexander, daughter-in-law Sierra, grandchildren Ryan, Matthew, Natalie, and Eleanor, the three siblings she cherished, and an extended family that she loved to be loved by.

A funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at St. Mary’s Church of the Visitation in Clinton. The family respectfully requests donations to Connecticut Hospice in lieu of flowers or gifts.
