10/10/2024 04:50 PMAnthony “Rabbit” Giordano, Sr., 91, of North Haven, passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 3, 2024, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Michelina Fappiano Giordano. Anthony was born in Woodbridge on April 1, 1933, the son of the late Ralph J. and Antoinette Riolino Giordano.
He served his country faithfully and proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Anthony was an operating engineer with C.W. Blakeslee Company, which later became Blakeslee, Arpaia, and Chapman, for more than 40 years and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 for 68 years. He was a member of the North Haven Ski Club, Pine Grove Men’s Club, Santa Maria Maddalena Society, and St. Andrew the Apostle Society.
He was the father of Ralph (Donna) Giordano, Anthony Giordano Jr., and Antoinette (Thomas) McKeon. He was Best Poppie to Justin (Danielle) Giordano, Kylie Gargano (Andrew), Tess Buechele (Matthew), and Fallon McKeon; great-grandfather to Luca, Livi, Leo, Jack, and Lois; brother of Ralph J. Giordano Jr. (Geraldine), Jill Fiorentino and the late Annette “Honey Girl” Pinto and Esther Luzietti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends were invited on Oct. 7 to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven, to attend a Mass of Christian burial and were also invited to attend the committal service immediately following with full military honors in the All Saints Mausoleum. The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
