Wendell Goss Jr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wendell E. Goss Jr., 60, of Westbrook. He passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice of Branford. Born on April 25, 1964, in Middletown, Wendell was the beloved son of Judy Goss and the late Wendell Goss Sr.

He spent his whole life living on the shoreline in Westbrook. This is where he developed his passion for the ocean. In his free time, you would often see him out metal detecting along the beach. He enjoyed building and racing RC cars for decades. If you didn’t find him doing one of these things, he would be off fishing or working on something. Wendell spent his whole adult life as a marine mechanic. He worked several years at Pier 76 Marina in Westbrook.

Wendell is survived by his loving mother Judy Goss of Westbrook; son Christopher Goss (Crystal Hall) of Oxford, Maine; daughter Brittany Goss of Ivoryton; grandson, Jackson Tyrseck; two nieces, Angela Scalzo (Gerald) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Valerie Avery (Jason) of Fort Wayne; two great-nephews, Hunter Scalzo and Ayden Avery; many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends in the marine/boating business. Wendell was preceded in death by his loving sister Holly D’Amico.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Connecticut Hospice of Branford, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT. 06405.
