Peter Weed Jr.

Peter Michael Weed Jr., age 90, of Guilford, passed away peacefully at home with his loving and caring wife of 43 years, Diane Weed, at his side on Sept. 21, 2024. Born in New Haven on March 3, 1934, he was a son of the late Peter Michael Weed and Rose DiNuzzo.

Peter proudly served in the United States Army, where he played baseball. He had a distinguished career as vice president of manufacturing for UMC Electronics and Electric Indicator companies. Peter loved rooting for the NY Giants and NY Yankees, playing golf, boating, and spending time with Champ II, his canine companion, who will miss him greatly. He was happiest spending time with family and friends and captivating all with his storytelling, humor and famous meatballs.

He will be profoundly missed by everyone who knew and loved him, including his wife, Diane; his cherished children: Peter Michael Weed III and his wife Mara, Veronica Ferraiolo, Kathy Belanger and her husband Joseph, Linda Lemke and her husband Mark, Christopher Harrington, and Ronald Harrington and his wife Amy; his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Joseph Weed; and sister Marion Sabino. He was predeceased by his brothers, Salvatore Weed and Clifford Weed.

A funeral service was held on Sept. 26 in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield Street, Guilford. Interment followed in Alder Brook Cemetery, 355 Boston Street, Guilford.
