Craig Andrews
Craig Emerson Andrews passed away unexpectedly in the comfort of his Essex home on Aug. 20, 2024, with his loving wife, Deborah, by his side. He was born on Dec. 14, 1948, the son of the late Charles and Eleanor Andrews, and grew up in Farmington. He was a graduate of Farmington High School and Franklin and Marshall College, where he excelled in the classroom and on the squash court. He had a distinguished 46-year career in the insurance industry.
Craig was passionate about golf and enjoyed an active membership at The Country Club of Farmington for 45 years, celebrating two holes-in-one and a Club Championship title. He was also an avid cribbage player and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to play. In recent years, he especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; their sons, Todd (Nelle) and Seth; and their grandchildren, Molly, Spencer, and Morgan Andrews; and Aren, Khoren, and Harper Andrews. He is also survived by his brother Brian Andrews (Lucy); and nephews, Peter Andrews (Heather) and Marc Demaree; his wife’s parents, Albert and Harriet Botters; and her siblings, Robert, Linda, and Pamela; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Josselyn Dolenshek, her husband, Alan, and his niece, Jennifer Andrews Demaree.
“Craig, you will forever be remembered for putting our family first; we shall love and miss you always.”
A celebration of life will be held with family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Craig’s name to the Essex Public Library.
