08/26/2024 02:37 PMFriday, Aug. 16, 2024, Mary Louise Spencer, 84, a lifetime resident of Guilford, passed away at her home. Mary was born in Aruba, The Dutch West Antilles, on April 4, 1940, the daughter of the late Hartwell Alvin Baxter and Eileen Melissa (Peabody) Baxter.
Loving mother of George P. Spencer of Guilford and N. Dean Spencer (Trish) of Pittsfield, Vermont; and brother of George L. Baxter of Parma, Ohio. She is predeceased by her brother, Richard Baxter, and sister, Cynthia S. Dwyer.
Before retirement, Mary had worked as a payroll clerk for the Town of Guilford for over 19 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time playing Bridge with her friends at the Senior Center.
Mary’s family would like to thank her friend Vivian for all of her help making Mary’s last days as peaceful as possible.
Friends were invited to a graveside service onAug. 23 in Alder Brook Cemetery, 375 Boston Street, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in Branford, CT.
