Karen Forsey Zadora

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Karen Forsey Zadora, 66, a lifelong Clinton resident, on Aug. 11, 2024, following a long battle with cancer. Born on May Day, May 1, 1958, with her twin brother, George, she was the daughter of the late Pauline and Richard Forsey.

Karen, an avid sailor, enjoyed many a blustery day sailing with her best friend Marguerite, and the two sharing one adventure after another! She was well known in the shoreline boating industry, specializing in the sale of Bayliner boats.

Karen enjoyed traveling with her family to Italy, but especially to Aruba, where she made her annual pilgrimage complete with the biggest turkey she could find, which she cooked for the many friends she made there. When she gave, she gave from her heart - many times to a fault - as her love knew no boundaries. A wonderful cook, you could always count on Karen to prepare a delicious, overly generous offering for any family gathering.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Torres. She is survived by her siblings, Keith, Beverly, twin George (who is always quick to point out that he let her be born first), Monique (Lori), Richard, and Eric Forsey, and Steven (Katharine) and Lee (Holly) David. Also left to mourn her passing are her many nieces, nephews, friends, and furbaby Willow.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton, with a celebration of Karen’s life to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to CT Special Olympics, 2666 State Street, Hamden, C. 06517. To share a memory or condolence, please visit www.swanfh.com.
