George Mascola


George Anthony Mascola of Westbrook, a former long-time resident of Branford, passed away after an extended illness on July 4, 2024. He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Marilyn Esposito Mascola of Westbrook. He was the cherished father of Vincent Louis Mascola and Kristen Marie Kilbride, both of Guilford. He was the brother of Edward and Arthur Mascola. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Nicholas, Vincent Jr., Angelina, Sebastian, Giovanni, and Julianna.

George was born in New Haven on Aug. 7, 1946, a son of Louis and Margaret Puglisi Mascola. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a welder for Blakeslee Arpaia and Chapman for almost 35 years. He later taught welding and was the director at the Operating Engineers Training School in Meriden.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Aug. 14 at St. Therese Church of St. John Bosco Parish in Branford. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends called on Aug. 13 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. Please see his online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com.
