07/18/2024 03:07 PMJames H. Gifford II, formerly of Clinton, passed away Jan. 19, 2024, under Hospice care, with his mother and sister Debbie by his side, to be with God. He was born in Akron, Ohio, on Jan. 17, 1963, and moved to Clinton in 1966. He attended schools in Clinton at Morgan High School and then Haddam Killingworth High School in his junior year. He lived in Ft. Pierce, Florida, for the last 10 years.
James was a great carpenter. His work was well known here in Connecticut and in Florida. He also got into plumbing and electrical work and worked on cars. He was very adventurous and especially loved sailing.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Paul H. White of Killingworth. James leaves behind his mother, Barbara A. White of Killingworth; his sisters, Deborah, Donna, and Carolyn; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as Paul’s children, Debra Oviatt of British Columbia and Douglas White of Stowe, Vermont. He also leaves adult children, James, Laura, Crystal, and Steven, as well as five grandchildren.
Services were held March 2, 2024, at St. Lawrence Church in Killingworth.
