Patricia Arnold

Patricia Sue Kelly Arnold passed away on July 3, 2024, with her family by her side. Patricia was born March 20, 1945, in Presque Isle, Maine, to Ellen Townsend and Fredrick J Kelly. Patsy Sue, or Pat as she was affectionately known, was the oldest of 4 children and spent the majority of her life in North Haven, where she graduated high school and went on to receive her certification as a radiology technician. She married her true love, Robert E. Arnold, and together they raised two children until Bob’s passing in 1985. While this could have destroyed her, she moved forward with a strength and unwavering love that became the pillar and foundation for all the years ahead.

She was especially proud of her career accomplishments, which culminated in her role as Practice Administrator for CT Heart Group until her retirement in 2020.

Patsy Sue loved to dance, having learned to bop in her aunt’s basement with her cousins. She wouldn’t miss an opportunity to get out on the floor. She loved gathering with friends and was rarely content just sitting at home on a Friday night. She also loved music and reading, but her most immense love came from her children and grandchildren. There was never a missed hockey game, dance competition, ceremony... the list goes on. She spent her last years in close proximity to them and was able to enjoy all of the little things, like Sunday dinners.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Ellen Kelly; her in-laws, Teresa and Reginald Arnold; a brother, Ronald “Buddy” Kelly; her husband Robert Arnold Sr.; and her son Robert Arnold Jr. She is survived by her brothers, Charles Kelly of West Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Fredrick Jr. “Fritz” Kelly of Branford; her daughter-in-law Sherlyn Celone-Arnold of Westport; her daughter Darci (Geoff) LaBash of Fairfield; her beloved and cherished grandchildren, Audrey and Blake; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be missed beyond measure, and her memory will forever remain.

The family would like to thank Visiting Angels of Fairfield, most especially Pat’s friend Robin, for her incomparable care and compassion, as well as the incredible team at Yale CTICU.

The visiting hours were on July 9 at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on July 10 in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery.
