MaryAnn Pisani

MaryAnn Rapuano Pisani, 71, of East Haven, passed away on June 19, 2024, at home with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 11, 1952, in New Haven, to Armando and Mary (Palange) Rapuano. MaryAnn is survived by her loving husband of over 22 years, George Pisani of East Haven, along with her siblings, Mark Rapuano (Jeanne) of Clinton and Dolores “Dee” Shea (Joseph) of Hudson, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces: Matthew Pisani (Mary), Ralph Pisani (Mary Ann), Jodie Kimball (Forrest), Michael Rapuano, James Shea, and Tyler Jabaut; and three great-nephews, Nicholas Pisani (Laura), Andrew Pisani and John Fiore; and a great-great nephew, Lucas Pisani. She is preceded in death by her parents and an aunt, Rosina Palange.

MaryAnn, also known lovingly as “Wannie,” had a 40-year career as a middle school science teacher, a technical writer, and a technology instructor. Her love of science and science fiction allowed her to use Star Trek as a teaching tool for her students. She truly encouraged her students to “live long and prosper!” MaryAnn was a voracious reader all her life. She especially loved the Harry Potter series, murder mysteries, and anything related to science. MaryAnn’s greatest joy was hosting holiday gatherings for family and friends. Her East Haven fireworks parties were truly spectacular. Thanksgiving and Christmas were also must-attend events for the family. MaryAnn and George enjoyed many summer days at Silver Sands Beach Club over the past 30 years.

A special thank you to Eric and Joanne Cornish, Diane Higgins, Mary Pisani, Darlene Mirto, Philomena Libretti, and CT Hospice in Branford for their kind and compassionate care of MaryAnn.

Family received friends from 4 p.m. on June 26 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. All were invited to attend a graveside service on June 27 in All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven.
